Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, who visited Dimapur Monday, assured to promptly review Business Association of Nagas (BAN)’s request for expediting the design approval process for the construction of the testing laboratory at Dimapur.
In a press release, BAN executive director Jason Sanglir informed that the union minister Verma extended invitation to BAN to formally submit a written request. At the meeting, BAN president L. Mongkum Jamir, provided an overview of the organisation and highlighted the collaborative efforts initiated through MoU between BAN and MSME.
He lauded the ministry for its proactive responsiveness to BAN’s requests and concerns particularly the swift approval of a food, mineral, and construction testing laboratory in Dimapur and also the approval for setting up a branch office of National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) at Dimapur.
MSME-DFO joint director Taliwati Longchar, provided a concise history of MSME in Nagaland and outlined targeted programmes, seminars, and ongoing projects in Nagaland.
MoS also visited the Bamboo traditional and Naga textile cluster under SFRUTI scheme at Sovima. The minister underscored the significance of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme and to actively engage in the “transformative initiative.”
