NSRLM holds consultative meeting with BAN to identify local employment opportunities for youths

The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) had a consultative meeting with the Business Association of Nagas (BAN) on 6th May 2022 at the De Oriental Grand hotel Kohima. The objective of the meeting was to identify local employment opportunities for youths trained under DDUGKY skill development programme.

The meeting deliberated on how to reduce migration of residents from rural to urban areas looking for jobs, possibility of convergence of public infrastructure for training rural youths, connecting returnees with prospective employers, the need for youth to develop work place professionalism to meet expectations of employersand so on.

It was decided that online portal will be developed with data of trained candidates which will be accessible to employers looking for trained manpower. An employers meet will be organized by NSRLM in collaboration with BAN to bring onboard Naga entrepreneurs on one platform. An employer’saward will also be constituted to recognize the best employers of DDUGKY trainees.

Joint Secretary, RD and Mission Director NSRLM Imtimenla chaired the meeting which was attended by BAN president L Mongkum Jamir, his colleagues and officers of NSRLM.
